2. Movement of plants from one rasi sign to another.

Sun - Takes a month to move a sign of 30’

Moon - 21/4 days

Mars - 2 years

Mercury - 14 to 30 days

Jupiter - 1 year

Venus - 23 days to 2 months

Saturn - 21/2 years

Rahu & Ketu - 11/2 years

Gochara/ transit is counted from natal moon.

The points to be noted -

1. A planet can also become combust or retrograde at a particular time which can be made out in the transit calendar.   
2. Transit of Rahu, Ketu, Jupiter & Saturn will have long lasting effects. Planets like moon and mercury bring quick changes.
3. Good/bad - Malefic/benefic , it can be decided  - transiting  planets position in natal chart visa vis natal moon/Ascendant is noted.
4. Directional influence prevailing at the time of transit and transiting planets relationship with Dasa lord, Antardasha lord, Prayantatdara lord is seen.
5. The Astavarga strength of the house being transited is noted.
6. Vedha effect of other planets in transit, A planet causing Veda would reduce the good or bad effects of the transiting planet.
